From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 553):
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
Psalm 103:13
Last night, we woke up to the blasts of air-defense systems. Russia launched the largest missile attack since May — 28 rockets and 15 kamikaze drones were intercepted. Some of the debris fell on a department store in our city district, but the explosions were heard almost all around Kyiv.
At school today, when the kids prayed before lunch, I was choking on tears: “Dear God, thank you that I live in Ukraine,” “Dear God, thank you that the missiles did not harm us at night.”
Lord, show compassion to your children!

Hebrews 11
Now they desire a better country, a heavenly. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their god, for He has prepared for them a city.
Revelation 21
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. I, John, saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself shall be with them, and be their God. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” He that sat upon the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said unto me, “Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
