11/15/2023 – And even though we might not see any hope now, we must remember that our efforts are not in vain, and the Light will overcome darkness

From Ira Kapitonova in n Kyiv (Day 629):

‭‭May the Lord give strength to his people!
May the Lord bless his people with peace!
Psalm‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭

Today, I finally had the chance to tour this beautiful city I’m visiting this week. We were blessed with excellent weather and breathtaking views. Unexpectedly, at some point, I felt anger welling up inside me.

I felt angry at those who started and continue this war. I felt weary of it. I thought about my friend who lost her fiancee at the frontline and felt angry that she’d never be able to visit this place with him. I felt angry that many Ukrainians need to stay in bomb shelters because of the air raid while I walk down beautiful streets. I felt angry because those who defend us pay too high of a price for me to feel angry…

Yes, many of us feel weary and angry. We feel overwhelmed, knowing how much pain is brought upon our land and our people every day. However, no matter how exhausted we feel, we cannot give up. We must keep fighting the battles we face wherever we are, and we must keep resisting the Enemy. And even though we might not see any hope now, we must remember that our efforts are not in vain, and the Light will overcome darkness.
