It may be an exhaustion of a Friday night after a busy week, or it could be a sense of relief that we didn’t need to go into our basement today — I don’t know what that is, but I know I feel drained. On days like this, I wish the war could have weekends or break weeks. I wish things could go back to the way they used to be, even if just for a little while…
At the same time, I know that I have very little to complain about. I know that there are those who have lost everything they had. I know that there are those who have sacrificed more than one can ever imagine. I know that so many live with the pain brought by this war that will never truly go away. So tonight, I pray for all who are weary, who are mourning, who feel like it’s too hard to move on. I pray for God’s sustaining hand to uphold them, for His living water to satisfy their thirst, and for His comfort to come upon those who weep.
