From Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 683):
O God, do not keep silence;
do not hold your peace or be still, O God!
Psalm 83:1
The expected cold front hit us today with snow, strong winds, and about -9°C (15 F). The roads are icy, and a snowstorm warning has been issued for tomorrow. While we worry about the possibility of blackouts, there are those whose needs are not just possible but urgent. Besides our soldiers in the trenches, there are thousands of civilians whose homes have been destroyed by Russian missiles. There are villages and cities in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions that suffer from daily shellings, so whole streets may have houses without windows or roofs.
Life in the occupied territories isn’t easy either. Many cities suffer from a lack of heat or incredibly high prices on fuel and wood. The occupational authorities worry little about the local population’s well-being, so they are in constant survival mode.
Please pray for God’s mercy!
