1/31/2024 – Mother turns to her child: “Baby, let’s go home. Ruzzians are bombing us with ballistic missiles today.”

From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (706th day): One of many playgrounds in a residential area of Kyiv. Late morning. Mothers and grandmothers are watching kids play. Occasionally, an adult moves closer to her toddler to ensure the child overcomes the obstacle or doesn’t stumble on a treacherous stair. It’s apparent adults are present to ensure safety.

An air raid siren starts. Kids continue to play, adults continue to watch them, but now check phones for news. A few minutes later, there was news that there were explosions in Kharkiv. It means the attack is by ballistic missiles – those fly fast. If it were drones, there would be more time – drones are slow.

Mother turns to her child: “Baby, let’s go home. Ruzzians are bombing us with ballistic missiles today.”

Can you imagine hearing these words in a playground in your neighborhood?!

This is the 21st century, this is Ukraine, this is Europe!

As someone said ruzzians are not just trying to destroy world order, they already have destroyed it – when they attacked a neighboring country to overtake it and kill its population without much noticeable backlash from the international community. Ruzzia broke and continues breaking many international laws yet it is still a member of international organizations like the UN and it has diplomatic relations with civilized countries. When one country is allowed to break international laws without consequences, it breaks world order. What the new world order will look like will depend to a great extent on the outcome of this war.

  1. From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 705):

    Seek the Lord and his strength;
    seek his presence continually!
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭105:4‬ ‭

    What would you call a great day? A little sunshine, a warm breeze, and no air raid did it for me today. Things we used to take for granted and will definitely take for granted once the war is over. But it’s always good to be grateful.
