From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv (710th day):

Just another Sat morning in Ukraine. You think you might do some shopping, but from experience, you know the chances are high you won’t be able to – it would be interrupted by an air raid. When sirens begin to wail shopping malls and banks close, public transportation stops. Some grocery stores remain open, but many close. You leave your full shopping cart and walk out of the store.

We usually hear sirens at home, muffled by closed windows or we hear it outside – a bit louder but not too bad as the sound spreads far. When you get to listen to it in a shopping mall, it’s really nerve-racking. I feel bad for people who work in places like this – they have to hear loud sirens, sometimes several times a day. I was paying for my purchases when the air raid started this morning. The shop assistant’s face changed, there was nervousness in her voice and movements. I could understand. I walked out of the mall with my heart pounding and it took some minutes to get rid of this sticky feeling of danger. Rationally I know the threat is no bigger and no smaller depending on how loud the siren is, but the loud wail gets you.

Please keep praying this terrorism is stopped.

  1. 2/3/2024 – Seminary in Kyiv Continues to Offer Courses

Dear friends! Yesterday, in our seminar of ersu held a conference: “Helping wounded hearts: pastoral counseling in the context of war. Special course. Part 2. Trauma and PTSD”.

Many thanks to our speakers Valery Zadorozhny and Philip Grant for their valuable knowledge!
Thanks to all the attendees offline and online (there were almost 70 participants in total).
Hopefully this topic will become more prevalent in our country, and there will be more professionals who can help overcome war, post-war and other life-related injuries.

  2. Our Father in heaven,
    Deliver us from evil.
Give us today our daily bread.
    Lead us not into temptation.
Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven
For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory.
