From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 712):
Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his commandments!
Psalm 112:1
I often think that in this whole war aspect of our reality, I don’t want us to lose the various sides to the beauty of our Ukraine. I want people to appreciate its history, culture, and natural sights because the enemy tries to destroy them and erase them from our memory.
That’s why today’s post is a simple picture of the White Elephant observatory in the Carpathians. The Chornohora (Black Mountain) range is one of the most picturesque places in the Ukrainian Carpathians.

2/9/2023 – Belgorod Dnestrovsky
From Lyuda Betina (Day 351): Dear brothers and sisters, It’s a frosty day and it’s rather cold. All our prayers are about our soldiers who have to fight overcoming cold. We heard that they feel fine in the frost when they move and do something. The hardest thing in the frost is the situation when they have to stay without moving for a long time in some place.
The situation with electricity in our region is getting better. All key substations supplying Odessa and the region received large-scale and complex damage from enemy attacks. They deliberately choose energy objects as the target. Last week was hard in Odessa. It was especially hard for multi-storey buildings which are completely dependent on electricity – heating, cookers, elevators, water.
I talked to my friends and relatives who live in Odesa. They were not in despair, they were doing everything they could to survive. We could not connect with Sergey’s sister, Tanya, who lives in Odessa. With the absence of electricity there was no internet and mobile connection.
She went to the nearest café with a generator and was able to send us messages from there. Most of the people made the supply of water at home now and there were places where people could get drinking water in case if they didn’t make a supply. In the cafes there were many parents with children who were doing their school home task.
The life is going on in spite of the war and all troubles. …
Some people come back from Europe. My good friend, a sports teacher, came back from Europe where she had stayed for several months. She says she missed her job so much, though she could attend some sport clubs there. When she came to the gym where she used to work before she was so glad to see some young sportsmen who are ready to continue their trainings…
I wish you to be well and healthy.
In Christ,
Lyuda

From Lyuda Betina (Day 354): After massive attack on Friday, the day without alarms yesterday was a blessing. And there was one more reason why the day was special. February 11 is our church birthday, twenty seven years ago we had our first worship as a church. So our worship today will be full of memories.
We had a group meeting yesterday and talked about love. Next week there will be a Valentine’s day and everybody will talk about love to turn away at least for a while from the difficult topics of war. We read 1 Corinthians 13, discussed the different love types from the New Testament (storge, fillios, eros and agape). We shared stories and talked about love languages. Everybody wanted to talk and people were open to this topic. It was nice to have warm and loving atmosphere.
At the time when we have our group meeting there are usually many people in the café and they can listen to our talks. Some people ask if they can sit near and participate. We always welcome everybody who shows interest.
We wish you a good worship day.
In Christ,
Lyuda
