This Friday felt like the grace of God after a long and draining week. In the morning, we talked with my students about God’s unconditional love and how He offers it freely, and we only hurt ourselves and others when we reject His love and choose evil. In the end, one of my students decided to pray for Putin, saying, “God, you love him. Will you help him choose you and run to you and turn away and repent from all the evil he’s doing?” I was just standing there in awe of this student’s faith, begging God to hear her prayers because my faith wasn’t strong enough to pray like that.
In a couple of hours, we got an air raid. As we went into the basement, we continued working on cards with different textures to give to the blind people. The kids were so consumed with their service project that it felt like they barely noticed the air raid, so once again, I thanked God for their kind, caring hearts.
It’s amazing how God can find ways to encourage us when we least expect it.
