2/22/2024 – I am supposed to be there for them, yet day after day, I see how they are there for me.

‭‭Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways!
Psalm 128:1

I keep thinking that seeing my students and focusing on them is what helps me survive these February days. Their hearts give me hope, and at the same time, I know that I am there to show them the hope we have in the Lord. I am supposed to be there for them, yet day after day, I see how they are there for me.

The other day, I saw a picture of a woman. She is the mother of a severely wounded soldier. She spends her whole day next to his hospital bed, yet at the same time, she has set up her computer next to the window to keep teaching math and physics to her online students. I admire her dedication to her students, no matter what it takes. At the same time, I wonder if she can’t give up her online lessons because her students are her anchor in the storm she’s going through.
