3/5/2024 – Odesa: What’s going on in the hearts and minds of those still mourning the loss of their loved ones when another attack is underway?

Today’s picture – the service dog Tara helped her owner during the rescue operation on the ruins of a house in Odessa. When Tara discovered the body of a child in the debris, it lay down and cried. Story and photo by Olena Balaba

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 740):

‭‭Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked;
do not further their evil plot, or they will be exalted!
Psalm 140:8

Odesa is under another drone attack now. I don’t know if anything can be more cruel. We are still processing the tragedy from a few days ago, and I could feel an anxiety attack even from reading the news about drones approaching Odesa. But how do the people who hear these drones feel? How do the people who live next door to the building that had been destroyed feel? What’s going on in the hearts and minds of those still mourning the loss of their loved ones when another attack is underway?

‭‭Let burning coals fall upon them!
Let them be cast into fire, into miry pits,
no more to rise!
Let not the slanderer be established in the land;
let evil hunt down the violent man speedily!
I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted,
and will execute justice for the needy.
Psalm 140:10-12

One response to “3/5/2024 – Odesa: What’s going on in the hearts and minds of those still mourning the loss of their loved ones when another attack is underway?”

  1. He was despised, rejected,
    A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief..
    Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows..
    (Isaiah 53)
