From: Maia Mikhaluk in Kyiv 🇺🇦 According to an article published in Relevant Magazine, a 2019 MIT Technology study found that 19 of the 20 most popular Facebook pages among American Christians were controlled by troll farms from Eastern Europe.

As the article’s author, Jeff Allen, a former Facebook data scientist, notes, “Our platform has had a huge impact on the Christian American community, giving power to a handful of bad actors who, based on their writing, have never even been to church.”

In total, these fake “Christian” pages controlled by these “troll farms” had an audience of about 140 million visitors per month, which is about 40 times more than the next real Christian Facebook page.

Obviously, ruzzian trolls are targeting not only Christians. They are working hard to plant and water ideas of ruzzian propaganda through social media and pseudo-journalists. The collection of excuses in the post below is created and planted in minds of Americans by ruzzian troll farms.

Those who oppose helping Ukraine continuously alter their narrative and create new excuses:

1) “Let European countries help” as a statement was designed to create a false impression that European countries are not providing aid to Ukraine. While this was partially true in early March 2022, it is no longer accurate. Currently, European nations are providing more assistance than the US, collectively.

2) “Let’s focus on China”. That line of argumentation is based on a false thinking that the war russia started in Ukraine can be taken in isolation from what is going on in China. In reality, China is closely observing russian war against Ukraine. If russia is successful, it will embolden China to attack Taiwan.

3) “Ukraine is a corrupt country, and the financial aid is not audited or monitored.” This statement is false. All financial aid sent to Ukraine is closely monitored and audited. In fact, the level of scrutiny is much higher than with any other country. Moreover, the significant reduction in systemic corruption over the past years has put Ukraine as the top improved country in the world.

4) “The US cannot afford to assist Ukraine.” While the total amount of aid is significant, $60 billion over two years is less than 5% of the US defense budget. At this cost, Ukraine has destroyed half of the russian army. More importantly, if Ukraine were to fall, the NATO country will be next. This will result in the involvement of US troops, which will cost far more than the current aid provided to Ukraine.

5) “There are not enough weapons”. Most of the weapons sent to Ukraine are not new, so sending weapons creates new jobs to replenish what was sent. The same principle applies to ammunition.
