3/24/2024 – I wish those who make these decisions could spend a week in an average Ukrainian home…

Today’s picture – a girl spends the night with her toy in a metro station. About 35,000 people (including 3,500 children) took shelter in the Kyiv metro during the most recent missile attack.

From: Ira Kapitonova (Day 759):

‭‭The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:9-10

I still feel emotionally drained from the previous massive missile attacks, yet it looks like we might have another sleepless night.

Our Air Forces reported that 14 Russian strategic bombers had taken off in Russia. They may be ready to launch missiles in about an hour, and those missiles may enter our territory in about two hours from now. Whether it happens or not, even their take-off triggers anxiety in every person. They are trying to break our spirit by keeping us awake night after night, yet it’s not something new. They are expected to continue attacks on our energy system to stop our industries and cause economic troubles. At least the days are getting warmer, so people will not freeze.

They also hope to exhaust our air defense, especially with the military aid from the US being delayed. These political differences or someone’s comfort come at the price of human lives. I wish those who make these decisions could spend a week in an average Ukrainian home, not necessarily close to the frontline. Perhaps that would add some clarity and compassion.

‭‭Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail;
let the nations be judged before you!
Put them in fear, O Lord!
Let the nations know that they are but men!
Psalm 9:19-20
