8/9/2024 — Why is Ukraine invading russia?

From: Roman Sheremeta—Ukrainian attack on the Kursk region is a bold and strategic move. Ukrainian forces are reportedly present in areas as far as 35 kilometers from the international border with Sumy Oblast. For comparison, in the past 16 months, russia was able to push the lines in Donetsk less than 10 kilometers.

There are at least three reasons how Ukraine benefits by invading russia:

First, it shows how vulnerable russia is. Geographically, russia is the largest country in the world, with a mediocre army to defend it. The war in Ukraine has exposed just how vulnerable russia truly is.

Second, russians are finally getting the message that their authorities are lying to them. The war is not going “as planned.” And now no amount of propaganda will be able to convince even heavily brainwashed russians otherwise.

Third, capturing parts of russia is a prequel to real negotiations – russia gets out of Ukraine and Ukraine gives back captured russian territories.

One response to “8/9/2024 — Why is Ukraine invading russia?”

  1. Our Father which art in heaven, Deliver us from evil.

    Lead us not into temptation.

Give us today our daily bread.

    Hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive…
