9/9/2024 — A bully doesn’t stop until someone stops them…

From: Ira Kapitonova in Kyiv (Day 928)

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
in him my heart trusts, and I am helped;
my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
The Lord is the strength of his people;
he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
Psalm 28:7-8

During last night’s attack, Russian drones crossed into the territories of Romania and Latvia. It may have been a malfunction, but it’s not the first time this has happened. While it might look innocent, Russia is watching closely to see NATO’s reaction and know how far they can go. A bully doesn’t stop until someone stops them.

An Iranian official confirmed the transfer of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia to use in the war against Ukraine. They will most likely be used in large-scale Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this winter, which will most definitely bring more casualties among civilians. Does it make Iran an official ally? Or should we still convince ourselves it’s just between Russia and Ukraine?

I saw a brilliant comic strip today. Mariam Naiem talks about how all the attacks and casualties make her feel shattered and afraid that one day, there will be nothing inside of her left to feel or be broken. That’s how I often feel.
