From: Lyuda Betina (Day 929)
News from Ukraine
Autumn, which always began with a pleasant coolness after a hot summer and with the holiday of the first bell in schools came with tragedy and pain. Every day last week was a tragedy. The enemy attacked our cities, attacked the homes of sleeping people early in the morning, educational institutions at the beginning of the working day and of course, energy objects that give us light and energy.

Among all this horror of murder, injuries and destruction one story stood out in particular. In the attachment there is a photo of the family of the Bazilevyches. Father Yaroslav, mother Yevhenia and their three daughters Yaryna (21), Daryna (18) and Emilia (7). Early in the morning, the enemy attacked Lviv, seven people died in the building hit by the rocket, among them Yaroslav’s wife and three daughters, he miraculously survived. This family was very active. They studied, worked and volunteered. This family radiated love and peace. And this is what the enemy kills in us, bringing us pain, death and hatred. Please, pray for Yaroslav who lost all his family.
Yesterday during the worship a message from Dr. Anya came. It was a prayer request. The army of the enemy attacks the city of Pokrovsk (this is where Anya is now, it’s Donetsk region) and tries to encircle it, our soldiers there are holding on with all their might. Due to the grave situation, medical teams cannot get through and take away the wounded. Then late in the evening she sent another message saying that they were able to take away four wounded soldiers, the fifth unfortunately died during the transportation. The situation is getting worse because enemy drones are constantly flying and the ambulance that the medics are using can easily become their target. We’ve been praying for Anya, the safety of her team and her safety, for the ability to take away the wounded from the war zone. Please, pray with us.
Thinking and praying about this situation I see that physical war is a mirror reflection of spiritual war that we all are constantly fighting as Christians. This is a war for the souls of people and the enemy of human souls always attacks the church trying to take possession of them. Last week I was talking to two teenage girls from our youth group. It seems like they have lost their way and are going in the wrong direction which can become very dangerous. This week I am meeting with the parents of one of these girls.

We continue our ministry to the refugees and we are very happy to help them, to share their joys and sorrows and to participate in their lives. There are always positive news. Two young girls from that group became students, they entered the college. One lady from the group is engaged and is going to get married. Her fiance is from Poland and she is going to move there. Her father will stay here, he says that the support group became a family for him. Two new families from the war zone came to our town and joined our group. It is surprising how they survived in that area for so long.

But we feel spiritual warfare in this ministry too. There are people who come to church with joy, join a Bible study group and we see changes in their lives. And there are people who came with big spiritual problems, who need help and guidance. We even found out that one person is involved in occult practice. Sometimes people suffer from great ignorance and do not understand how dangerous such things can be. Please, pray for us as we guide people on the right path.

We have completed the renovation inside the building of our Refugee Center. All the works took longer than we expected. Our main construction-worker, Alex, last several months worked alone because his assistants were called up to the army. It is very difficult to find construction workers in our country now. But Alex did a wonderful job. The living area on the second floor is very nice.

Now the adult daughter from the family downstairs who had to share the same room with her parents for a while, will have a separate bedroom. And a new family will move in there soon. Alex will start doing some exterior work now, the external walls of the building need to be strengthened and protected from the weather influence and other things.
We thank you for your help and prayers.

Dear Lyuda,
It was heart breaking to see Yaroslav had lost his whole family all at one time! I pray for him that he can find peace in knowing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is hard to comprehend the pain and loss that he feels.
I am lifting Dr. Anya up in my prayers, may God protect her and give her a supernatural peace and strength!
Congratulations on having the renovations completed for the refugee center. It is wonderful to have a place of haven like this.
And thank you for the encouraging news on how God is working in BD.
Love in Christ,
Jill
