From: Ira Kapitonova (Day 945)
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1
Terror, the paralyzing fear that makes you incapable of making wise decisions, is the best tool of terrorists. We saw a new wave of nuclear terrorism coming from Russia today. It wasn’t to threaten Ukraine. We’ve lived through too much to be scared of that. It was done to paralyze the world and manipulate the world leaders into abandoning Ukraine. I guess we’ll soon see if the terrorists succeed.
We enjoy nice weather and days with electricity, but the thoughts of a hard winter with blackouts are never too far away. There are more and more reports on the possible attacks on our nuclear power plants. Yet we can only pray for the Lord to intervene.
Every day, I hear our kids at school praying for the war to end. I know they also pray at home. With my mind, I understand that if the Lord chooses not to answer their prayers now, it must be for a good reason. Yet I also imagine these piles of petitions from the children of Ukraine flooding the heavenly office and how heartbroken God must be…
One response to “9/26/2024 — God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Lord, hear our prayer. We plead with you to have the war end soon and without nuclear weapons.
