These days bring mixed feelings. The anticipation of Christmas should bring joy and hope, yet it’s hard to rejoice when you know the price paid every day. And even when I do get hopeful about the war ending one day soon, the realization of everything that will need to be processed and dealt with feels overwhelming.

And I don’t think I’ll ever get used to children’s prayers, especially when they daily pray for a relative gone missing in action to be safe.

Lord, pour out your justice, and do not delay!
